Dear Editor, I do not know why some politicians get involved in politics in Guyana.

On September 21st we referred in these columns to the case of a young woman who had recently faced disrespect and mistreatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) – the country’s main public health facility.

Dear Editor, The President declared that Spanish is now compulsory in public schools across Guyana, but are the required human resources and materials available to realise Dr Ali’s vision?

Dear Editor, Why is the Government indulging in the pretence that the only problem with teachers’ remuneration is that some are being paid below the minimal of the relevant scales?
