Dear Editor, It is with heaviness in my heart that I pen this letter.

Dear Editor, Due to obvious reasons, my efforts to share teaching moments with readers in Guyana and the readers of Guyana’s media have encountered some setbacks.

Dear Editor, The news item by an online site about the elections of the Lethem council (INews July 6), which was won unopposed by the incumbent, it was observed in the photograph of the new council, a framed official portrait of the former minister, with responsibility for local governance and regional development, was quite visible. 

At the end of last month President Irfaan Ali addressed the nation on a subject which was not at the forefront of citizens’ minds given the questions swirling around the Dharamlall case.

Dear Editor, The Dharamlall matter, the allegation of rape brought against Govern-ment Minister Nigel Dharamlall, has reached a conclusion that was entirely predictable to anyone following the case.

Dear Editor, Please permit me to share my thoughts. There is a misconception going around that it is only opposition supporters who are furious about how the rape and sodomy allegations again a government minister proceeded.

Dear Editor, Now it is forward with the minister’s serial.  I regret being unable to identify the minister, a brother in distress, by his name.

Dear Editor, The case involving former Minister Nigel Dharamlall and the accusations of rape of a minor Indigenous girl have exposed a shocking disparity between the rhetoric of People’s Progressive Party (PPP) government officials, and their actions.

Dear Editor, The media has reported the murder of Bibi Naseefa Baksh.

Dear Editor, It was not surprising, pensioners complaining of the long wait they endured (SN July 5), on the first day of the aligned old age pension payments system rolled out. 

Dear Editor, The President recently told the nation of his exploits and benefits to the nation in the important area of Foreign Affairs.

Dear Editor, Kindly advise me whether there is such a word as “WAIT” in the dictionary.

On June 30, the investigation by the Guyana Police Force into the allegation of rape against Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Nigel Dharamlall came to halt when the teen complainant gave what the police referred to as a ‘No Further Action’ statement.

Dear Editor, Over the past weeks, we have been disappointed, hurt and angered by the mishandling of investigations into the allegations of rape brought against Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Nigel Dharamlall, by an Indigenous Guyanese girl.

Dear Editor, Reference is made to Mr. Joel Bhagwandin’s letter entitled `The sale of carbon credits to offset carbon emissions does not breach the Amerindian Act’ (see Stabroek News, July 4, 2023).

Dear Editor, I hope that Joel Bhagwandin knows that plants/trees convert atmospheric carbon dioxide into leaves and wood and roots, and also respire carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere as they generate their energy for survival and growth; see his letter ‘The sale of carbon credits to offset carbon emissions does not breach the Amerindian Act’, SN 04 July.
