Dear Editor, I read a letter in your December 30, 2022 edition captioned `Better Hope/LBI is one of the best functioning NDCs’  written by Mustafaa Azimullah.

Dear Editor, Your Editorial of 30th December (“Oil money and poverty”) correctly criticized the clueless and incompetent PPP government for failing to tackle poverty, inequality, and general misery in Guyana.

Dear Editor, As a Guyanese of the diaspora living in Switzerland and Germany, I have been following Guyanese politics closely for the last few years.

Dear Editor, In response to the letter published in the Stabroek Newspaper on December 31, 2022, with the title “My son paid $3000 to the GPO as a penalty for not having a National ID card,” The Guyana Post Office Corporation wishes to inform the public that such a policy does not exist within the Corporation and that a valid driver’s license is an acceptable form of identification when accessing the Corporation’s services.

So here we are at the start of a new year, although just how new it will be for most of us remains to be seen.
