Dear Editor,  In the struggle to see my country liberated from decades and decades of political oppression; corruption, racism, state violence and mismanagement of our nation’s resources, it is my personal decision to reject any superficial offer by President Ali to return home from the diaspora to participate in nation building.

In recent weeks a variety of suggestions have arisen for modernising voting on polling day so that ostensibly the casting of a ballot will occur faster and results will be made available quicker.

Dear Editor, As a result of the recent incident in Georgetown involving Mayor Ubraj Narine, sections of the media and populace have blamed the generally unhappy state of the Capital City on the Mayor and Councillors of Georgetown.

Dear Editor, There is high tension at the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, where members of staff have been complaining about and exposing the egregious acts that are ongoing at the Ministry, since August 2020.

Dear Editor, WPA roundly condemns the government for its highhandedness towards vendors located in the vicinity of the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Dear Editor, I refer to your article in the Stabroek News edition of 16/12/2022 edition, “Army ranks lauded over Kaieteur Airstrip Expansion,” which brought back memories of an encounter during my short term residency at Kaieteur Falls, 1996-1999.

The government through its holding company NICIL is now seeking expressions of interest for the sale of its shares in the Marriott Hotel.

A strike by speedboat operators crossing the Demerara River started on Friday December 9th as part of their long running demands for a price increase on the $100 fare frozen for eight years.
