Dear Editor, August remains a month of great significance to all of the people of Guyana.

Dear Editor, It has to be wondered, the medex, recovering from dengue fever, who had other underlying health conditions, was allowed to return to field work so soon. 

Dear Editor, I’m writing to share my concerns about the ongoing high inflation in Guyana, which is really squeezing a lot of people, especially those who are already struggling.

Dear Editor, Government needs to take action to narrow the widening gap between the rich and the poor, the super-rich and the middle class; both Jagan and Burnham would have pursued some kind of policy to aid the lower income people.

Dear Editor, In recent years, the treatment of indigenous communities by the PPP government has revealed a troubling pattern of exploitation and neglect.

Dear Editor, You cannot change something, with any degree of credibility or commitment, if you failed to understand it and give it a chance to work.

Dear Editor, There have been two major activities this week of note – the National Toshaos Conference and the releasing of the CSEC/CAPE results.

Given that we are in the year 2024, nearly five years into oil production and with an average annual input into the budget from petroleum revenues of U$1b – $200b – there is surely unanimous agreement that pit latrines at schools should be a thing of the past.

Dear Editor, Multiple individuals, business people, media folks, and others in the diaspora and in Guyana asked a most relevant question: Isn’t it embarrassing for the police force when foreign law enforcement trace and find wanted criminals and also know the corrupt and can sanction thieving officials and business persons in Guyana?

Dear Editor, In my years of service in the education sector in Guyana (1968-2019) I have been blessed by the presence of so many accepting and understanding me with encouraging words and guidance.

Dear Editor, I recently had the joy of witnessing my niece achieve something that many, including myself, found surprising—she passed nine subjects in the CSEC exams.
