Condolences on deaths of 28 Haitians at sea

Dear Editor, On behalf of the Government and people of Barbados, I would like to express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Haiti in relation to the tragedy of Saturday 2nd February 2019 in which 28 of our Haitian brothers and sisters lost their lives when the boat on which they were travelling sank off the coast of The Bahamas.

Last Saturday a rare celebration occurred at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua as the West Indies won the Second Test match versus England inside of three days to take an unassailable 2 – 0 lead and regain the Wisden Trophy for the first time in ten years.

Dear Editor, The two test victories by the West Indies team against England in Barbados and Antigua give a glimmer of hope to the tens of thousands of Caribbean fans across the region and the wider world, but most of us still have doubts whether the Windies team will continue the victorious trend.
