I read with some disgust in your newspaper on January 17, 2019, an article on page three from the Alliance for Change about the presidential candidate for the upcoming General and Regional Elections.
Nothing could have done more to persuade the electorate that our politicians are utterly cynical than the pantomime which has been playing out over MPs having dual citizenship in contravention of the Constitution.

As society continues to read revelations of Members of Parliament’s admittance of having dual citizenship and denial on the part of others, even though one was outed by his leader, this issue is bringing clearer to the fore the magnitude of the problem we face in this area.

As I sat in the hallowed chambers of the ruinous City Hall building recently and witnessed the new Mayor of our capital city being inaugurated and watched him take the march past, I felt a sense of deep pleasure and satisfaction as a result of the achievements and qualities of this humble, young and energetic man taking up this leading and key position in Georgetown.
