Dear Editor, Guyana’s political culture is not evolving fast enough. What we are dealing with here is a political culture that has been developed over 50 years of the PPP and PNC fighting each other.

Dear Editor, I fear that you will dismiss and disagree with me out of hand, but after my own personal experience in higher education, I have come to strongly believe that I will not be sending my daughter to a secular university.

Dear Editor, Yesterday, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Barton Scotland  responded to the PPP/C’s letter of complaint that the presence of Prime Minister, Moses Nagamootoo, in the National Assembly, while performing the functions of the Office of President, constitutes a violation of the Constitution.

Dear Editor, The Editorial “Oil and national cohesiveness” (SN, 14th December 2018) serves to remind us that National Cohesion is not being achieved because of politicians’ ambiguity towards it.

Dear Editor, The December 10, Stabroek News reported that Prime Minister and First Vice President, Moses Nagamootoo in his contribution to the 2019 Budget debate said the Budget “…will ensure pay and continued jobs for all workers inside and outside of government…”.

Dear Editor, The Postal Service today is an exact replica of what, in structure and system, it was in the colonial era, except that the quality of management then was highly respected.

Dear Editor, In the Accountability Watch column of December 10 in the Stabroek News, I expressed  deep concern about the continuing practice of having deficit budgeting which results in a progressive increase in the overdraft on the Consolidated Fund.

Dear Editor, On or about the 27th September, 2018, the almost new John Deere Tractor and Trailer owned by the Good Hope Pomona Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), was left within the compound of the Aurora Secondary School at Pomona Village on the Essequibo Coast, Region # 2,  and that was on the advice and instruction of the Chairman of the NDC.

There has been much talk over the years about the importance of achieving social cohesion in Guyana, particularly since the current administration put in place a Ministry of Social Cohesion intended to advance social cohesion among the various racial and cultural groups in Guyana.
