Jackson and Williams among winning world champions

ZURICH, Switzerland, CMC – Jamaicans Shericka Jackson and Danielle Williams led Caribbean performers with wins, and they were two of eight world champions that maintained their status at the World Athletics Diamond League meet on Thursday in the Swiss city of Zurich.

Andrew and Weir overshadowed by Perera’s series-winning hundred

DAMBULLA, Sri Lanka, CMC – Half-centuries from Jewel Andrew and Adrian Weir failed to top a superb hundred from opener Pulindu Perera, and West Indies Under-19s were beaten by 52 runs in the series-deciding third ODI against hosts Sri Lanka Under-19s yesterday.

Coach hails double-crown champions Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Barbados head coach Dexter Toppin praised his side after they created a slice of history when they became double-crown champions of the Cricket West Indies Under-17 Rising Stars tournament that ended on Thursday in Trinidad and Tobago.

Hunter secures gold at IPF Powerlifting Championships

Powerlifting prodigy, Romeo Hunter will return home from the IPF World Classic and Equipped Sub-Junior and Junior Powerlifting Championships in Romania with a gold for the squat but was out of consideration for an overall podium finish after failing to register a total yesterday.

Trinbago Knight Riders 194/5 (Guptill 100*, Pollard 46; Holder 2/39, vd Merwe 1/32) beat Barbados Royals 61 all out (Holder 14, Powell 10, Ahmad 10; Salamkheil 4/14, Russell 3/13) by 133 runs A dominant display with both bat and ball saw Trinbago Knight Riders record a 133-run win over Barbados Royals in the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) last night.
