Bolt and Blake on Athlete of the Year shortlist

LONDON, (Reuters) – Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Yohan  Blake and Kenyan David Rudisha have been shortlisted for the  men’s World Athlete of the Year award, while Valerie Adams of  New Zealand, Kenyan Vivian Cheruiyot and Australia’s Sally  Pearson are up for the women’s prize.

Pakistan trio jailed for spot-fixing

LONDON, (Reuters) – Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt,  Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were jailed yesterday for  their roles in a spot-fixing scandal which the judge said had  damaged the integrity of a game renowned for its fairness.
