Led by an unbeaten 87 from Man-of-the-Match Veerapen Permaul, coupled with an impressive spell of bowling from Gudakesh Motie (4-15), Corentyne defeated Leguan/Wakenaam Combined by 112 runs, in the final of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB)/Ministry of Education under-15 inter-district competition yesterday.

NSC and Ministry of Sport promise more school basketball

Both the Minister of Sport Dr. Frank Anthony and Director of Sport Neil Kumar expressed their satisfaction with the turnout and support given to the just-concluded National Sports Commission (NSC) Mashramani Inter- secondary School Basketball Tournament, and have promised more basketball among the schools.

The Government Technical Institute (GTI) captured this year’s Ministry of Sport, Inter-school Mashramani basketball title after thrashing President’s College 85-53 in the final on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
