Peter Grimes (85), Michael Kendall (52 and 4-0) and Ravi Narine 5-5 highlighted the first round of the Berbice zone of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Neal and Massey sponsored 40 overs first division cricket competition which got under way last Sunday in the Ancient County.
Untouchables of Berbice played unbeaten last Sunday when action in the Banks DIH sponsored Guyana Softball Cricket Association (GSCA) 15 overs a side competition continued.

After securing a creditable 1-1 series draw with Sri Lanka in the 2008 Digicel Home series and then winning the One-Dayers 2-0, cricket fans in the region are awaiting with bated breath the arrival of the `Awesome Aussies’ and the subsequent three-test series.
