Matthews fifty in vain as WI lose finale

(CMC) – Captain Hayley Matthews struck her sixth Twenty20 International half-century but that was the only highlight for hapless West Indies Women, as they slumped to a five-wicket defeat off the last delivery of the final T20I against New Zealand Women yesterday.

GOLD COAST, Australia, CMC – A determined West Indies kept World champions Australia on their toes before losing the plot in the final over, as they crashed to a three-wicket defeat in the opening Twenty20 International of their two-match series here yesterday.

Windies remaining focussed despite Hetmyer controversy

GOLD COAST, Australia, CMC – Captain Nicholas Pooran said yesterday West Indies had pushed the controversial omission of Shimron Hetmyer to one  side, in order to focus on the two-match Twenty20 International series against World champions Australia and their preparation for the T20 World Cup later this month.
