Waves and walls

Suffering, much like happiness, comes in small and large waves. It finds us on the shores of life and engulfs us until it feels as if there is nothing else in the world for us to feel or see.

 The St. Cuthbert’s Mission/Pakuri Village Council recently posted this
photograph of the late artist and archaeologist George Simon creating this beautiful painting as their ‘picture of the day’ on their Facebook page. Simon, who died in 2020, was a recipient of the Golden Arrow of Achievement (AA).

We need to connect the dots

After so many countries have plundered and dug through their lands or invited others to do so for them, exhausting their environmental limits and pushing local communities out for capitalist gains, we are yet again reminded that climate change isn’t just a safe cause or talking point.

Region Two pupils shine at NGSA

Eleven-year-old Matthew Mohabir of Abrams Creek Primary in the Lower Pomeroon River, has emerged as one of the top performers in the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) for Region Two.
